What is ActiVin®?

ActiVin® is an all-natural, red grape seed extract rich in powerful plant-based antioxidants called proanthocyanidins. These antioxidants can help protect against the effects of internal and environmental stresses.

How do these proanthocyanidins found in grape seed extract work in the body?

Proanthocyanidins are potent antioxidant nutrients that can help neutralize harmful free radicals and help maintain normal blood platelet function in the body. Platelets help to repair nicks and tears in our blood vessels that occur every day. Sometimes blood platelets become too sticky, and build up on artery walls, which may increase risk of heart attacks and strokes. These antioxidants can help blood platelets function regularly; thereby, helping to promote cardiovascular health.

What is the role of proanthocyanidins in ActiVin® grape seed extract?

Proanthocyanidins are extracted from red grape seeds and are the principal component in ActiVin® grape seed extract. Some of these proanthocyanidins, most notably oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs), are powerful antioxidants – many times more potent than vitamins E, C and beta-carotene. Studies have shown that these OPCs can help prevent free radical formation, which may be an important factor of many chronic and degenerative diseases such as certain types of cancer, heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis, cataracts and premature aging.

How does ActiVin®grape seed extract compare to other sources of proanthocyanidins?

ActiVin® is manufactured using a patented process called ActiPure®, an environmentally friendly, natural water process that extracts proanthocyanidins from grape seeds. By eliminating harsh chemicals, the ActiPure® process is able to recover more of the potent OPCs from the grape seed proanthocyanidins.
